LOCATION:
Maps,
Parking, Public Transportation, and Directions...
Since
our salon space is private we do not publicly disclose our address,
but we can tell you that we are located on Pacific in the historic
Hyde Street Russian Hill neighborhood. About 2 blocks from the
Polk Street Russian Hill district.
Our
1901 building was originally built as a noodle factory and survived
the 1906 earthquake! IN the early 1960s it was an after-hours
underground Beatnik club. There are many tourist attractions and
sights nearby. To learn more, click

PARKING
TIPS & PAID LOTS:
If you don't know where to look, parking can be challenge in our
neighborhood. We always encourage public transportation when possible.
However, it's easy to find parking closest to Polk St.,
which is 2 blocks west. And there are several paid parking
lots nearby:
- Paid
parking is available 2 blocks away at the Dulux paint store
lot 1580 Pacific Ave. @ Polk St. $6 weekdays and $7 Fri.-Sat.
- Another
lot is located on Pacific between Van Ness and Polk and a third,
at Hyde @ Green.
- Loading
and unloading can be daunting in our corner: There
is also a yellow loading zone across the street, but we also
recommend pulling alongside our garage at the back of Lynch
Street.
PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION:
The center of Russian Hill is accessible
by the Hyde-Powell
cable car and two Muni
buses, the 41 (weekday rush hour only) and the 45.
The 19 runs along Polk Street, stopping frequently from Ghirardelli
Square to the Tenderloin. The
Hyde Street/Powell Cable Car stops right outside the building
at Hyde and Pacific.
Taxis
are also easily accessible from Polk and Pacific streets as well
as on Hyde.
DIRECTIONS:
From
Marin/Northbay:
Coming from the bridge, take the Lombard street exit. Take Lombard
past Van Ness straight up, turn right on Polk Street, and left
on to Pacific Ave.
From
East Bay/Oakland Bay Bridge:
Once you approach the end of the Bay Bridge, take the Fremont
St exit. Turn left onto Fremont St. Fremont St becomes Front street.
Turn left onto Pine St, right onto Leavenworth, and left onto
Pacific Ave. We are on the corner of Pacific and Hyde Street.

OUR
NEIGHBORHOOD HISTORY: Jack Kerouac wrote some
of his work in Neal Cassady’s tiny attic at 29 Russell
Street. Armistead Maupin’s fictional Barbary Lane
in Tales of the City was based on the beautifully landscaped
Macondray Lane, but the lesser-known Havens Street is
where Maupin lived when penning his page-turner.
